Rent is due on or before the 1st day of the month. Rent can be paid in a number of ways: cash, money order, Interac E-Transfer to epay.regina.ha@gov.sk.ca, cheque, telephone or internet banking (except for CIBC) or Pre-Authorized payment. Payment may be made at either office, however cash payments will not be accepted at the Dewdney office. When paying by telephone or internet banking you will need to provide your tenant number to your financial institution.
If for any reason, you are unable to pay your rent, contact Regina Housing Authority to discuss the situation.
Cheques will not be accepted after the 10th of the month. Regina Housing Authority does not normally accept post-dated cheques.
Note: We do not accept online payments from CIBC.
If your rent payment is late, you may be asked to move.
Rent for each housing unit varies because rents are based on incomes. Your income will be reviewed annually to determine your lease rent. Written verification of income is required.
Rent charged is 30% of your total gross family income (before deductions). Income inclusions and exclusions are outlines in the Social Housing Handbook (available on Downloads page).
Changes May Affect Your Rent:
If at any time, for any reason, your income changes, you must notify Regina Housing Authority. Failure to report an increase in income could result in back rent charges. If you encounter a hardship and your income is reduced, you may be eligible to apply to have your rent reduced. Be sure to notify the Housing Authority if you think you are eligible for a rent reduction. Proof of income will be required. Rent reductions cannot be back dated.
You must also notify Regina Housing Authority of any change in family size (composition).
